A Simple Yet Functional Journal

Just another one of those things.

Chocolate Show, Saturday, NYC

[info]aiskon and I (and likely several other persons) plan to attend the Chocolate Show in NYC tomorrow.

We plan to take the train into the city, which will mean leaving from Rahway RR Station. The show starts at 10am, and is about a half hour away with subway and walking (that link is technically the walking map, but I'd rather take the subway to Columbus Circle and walk from there). Taking the 8:01 AM train on the North Jersey Coast line would get us to Penn Station at 8:42 AM. This would leave us ample time to get to Pier 94. Alternately we could take the 8:48 AM train on the NorthEast Corridor line, which would get us to Penn Station at 9:35 AM. This has the upside of likely being the same train [info]ellindsey might take (leaving New Brunswick at 8:37 AM), but would also get us to Pier 94 after 10am. I expect [info]aiskon will want to take the 8:01 AM train.

[info]aiskon, I should note, likes getting to places the second they open, and also is a morning person.

Once we have chocolated ourselves out, which I expect to happen sometime shortly past noon, we'll probably go somewhere for non-chocolate lunch. Last year, we did dim sum in chinatown, and also stopped by the Union Square marker, but I am not aware of specific plans for this year. Improvisation will probably take place.

Tuesday's CSW Swag

The winning swag so far for Customer Service Week is the $25 Amazon gift certificate. The two emails (one nonspecific positive message from management, one inspirational quote) impressed me slightly less.

The quote:

"Biggest question: Isn't it really 'customer helping' rather than customer service? And wouldn't you deliver better service if you thought of it that way?"
Jeffrey Gitomer

I did not win the drawing from Monday's crossword puzzle.

On an unrelated note, who wants Day of the Dead Chocolate Skulls? Mmmm... tasty!
