If you're    ready for a zombie apocalypse, then you're ready for any emergency.    emergency.cdc.gov

Yes, the CDC is posting a plan about how to prepare for a zombie apocalypse. If you look at the actual blog about this, you may notice that the advice is short on shotguns, decapitation drills, and that sort of specific violent procedures. What it actual is, of course, is good general emergency advice.

I've actually thought this would be a good way of getting emergency preparedness out as something to think about. A lot of people who wave off the risk of fire or weather will still nonetheless plan out in great detail what they'd do if zombies or aliens attacked. While the specific premise of the scenario is silly, getting people to think about this stuff is great.

A mutual friend of Diane and I is a math teacher, who commonly uses Zombie Word Problems in place of the typical "If a train leaves Chicago..." problems. She's found kids pay more attention that way...
